Presence

Life is a gift. Each moment we are granted on this earth is waiting to reveal its hidden gem, its offering from the beyond. Catch is, as the Las Vegas casino sign reminds us, “Wwe must be present to win.”

But how do we stay present in the game of life when distractions bombard us from every direction? Texts, emails, advertising, social media, and the unending noise of the world, it’s overwhelming. All too often we might be physically present, but mentally elsewhere, replaying past conversations, planning future tasks, or whirling in the chaos of our monkey minds. 

When this happens, we don’t just miss out on the moment, we miss each other. Our partners, colleagues, and friends miss us as much as we miss them. Our connection to those around us and even to ourselves suffers. Without clarity of focus, we drift in a sea of distraction, cut off from ourselves, from others, and from the deeper presence that holds us all.

But, when we return to our presence, something shifts. Suddenly we can rediscover the resources available to us, within and all around. As one SI interviewee put it, "When I am present, I am more resourced, efficient, effective, and creative—I am also much more available to life energies as they flow through me."

Grounded in presence, Being itself becomes available, holding us in safety, trust, and inner peace.
